Countdowns and

We are in the final stretch now... Counting down until the end of the school year is days away!! I cannot wait to turn in my End of Year Checklist!! I am moving classrooms, which is both great and a little bit chaotic. I have actually moved all my stuff, but we are not really allowed to have our rooms ready until the Fall. We are allowed to paint our rooms next year, so I am contemplating doing that. It will just be nice to finally be on the same hall with people that teach what I teach!

We are also in the countdown for the Wedding! It seems unreal that it is so close. I never really understood why people said planning a wedding is stressful. I get it. Oh geez do I get it. There hasn't been any drama or anything like that. I just never thought it would come down to the little details. The choices you have to make are stupid. No one actually cares what kind of candles there are, but you still have to pick them. Sam has been Uh-mazing through the whole process. He has been patient and willing to make decisions. I don't know where I would be without him... obviously not getting married, haha!! This weekend we are having our wedding showers! I am so so excited.

Sam and I made a really cool challenge for ourselves. When we got to 40 days on the Wedding countdown, we decided to do a Bible Verse Challenge. Our pastor was talking about how young people aren't as familiar with the actual text of the bible as the older folks in the church are. This really got me thinking about how to make a commitment to commit verses to memory. This idea of the 40 day challenge was born. We found 40 different verses about love, marriage, and God's commitment to us. I got the King James Version of the verse and put all 40 on a spreadsheet. Each night we sit down and study the chapter that the verse comes from for context. So far we are two verses in.. I have the first day's verse memorized and am working on yesterdays. We will see how many of these great verses we can put in our hearts!!

Day 1: 1 John 4:7
Day 2: 2 Timothy 1:7

In my 20's

It's incredible how much you can change in a short period of time! I ran my first 20 mile run today!!! My mom tricked me, and I actually got 20.5. That extra half mile may not sound like much, but it is so hard when you are just trotting along.

It wasn't a bad run at all, though. I definitely feel like a marathon is an attainable goal, now. October seems so far away, but I missed marathon season around here.

Sam and I have been having a blast! We are in full swing with wedding details. I ordered invitations this week, so it's officially happening now! LOL. I am excited to finally get our cake choice made this next week too. I cannot wait to marry my best friend. God really has provided me an incredible spouse!

He left me a sweet note on our "I love you because" frame :$

Brain Cave

This has been a week full of answers! We have been so tremendously blessed. I had to meet with my assistant superintendent on Tuesday. He confirmed that I will have a full time contract in the fall. My job has been such a source of stress, so it's a huge relief to know that we don't have to worry about that. Our huge amounts of patience continued to pay off this week, when we went to neurosurgeon! After months of waiting, Sam finally got a diagnosis! Woohoo!! It was such a nerve-wracking experience, but we are relieved that our wedding can go on as planned!!
Sam has a tangle of blood vessels in his brain called a cavernoma. His is in an odd spot, which could make it trickier to remove if they had to. Hopefully, it won't bleed ever again because as long as it doesn't he won't have to have the surgery! Of all the bad news to have in the brain, I think we were blessed with the best bad news. Haha... I have been in mad dash mode these last two days to get wedding stuff done. I cannot believe that we are getting married in such a short amount of time!!! I went to my first dress fitting yesterday. I had such a good time. I could not believe how much it has to be altered and how expensive the alterations are! Sam got his suit. I finally ordered the invitations. My girls have their dresses. Sheesh, wedding overload. We are pretty sure we have found a bakery, too. I cannot wait until school is out, and we can start crafting our centerpieces and stuff..

Sleeping in until 7AM!

I am old. I rejoice when I am able to sleep in until 7... I used to think that waking up early was stupid, but now I see how useful it really is. More often than not, I am actually mad when I sleep too late!

The reason that I got to sleep in this morning is the MRI. Sam's got an appointment for one today. Hopefully we are getting closer to getting some real answers. I am genuinely exhausted from waiting to know something. Prayers for answers and for guidance!

Our little pupperoos have been on a crazy streak! I think that steroids really helped Dodger, and Gwenny is feeding off of that!

I hope I am not just being hopeful about Dodger, but I want to believe his cancer is slower than they originally thought. My handsome puppy, it breaks my heart to see him hurt!

Last weekend was an absolute BLAST!! I got a PR and shocked myself. I ran my half in 1:58! That's 11 minutes faster than last time, which is about 30 seconds a mile. Goodness me, wowza! I am excited and already ready for the next. Definitely thinking about a fall full marathon... Need to start my hill work.

Excited for the future! Loving the blessings that I enjoy everyday! Praying for the grace to continue to wait elegantly for all the answers.
